Music Gear was born out passion for music. Started by the husband wife team of Ravi and Parvathy ('Gayathri' to friends) and supported by many other family members and friends, Music Gear's goal is to take make it easier for musicans to gain access to quality musical instruments and accessories.
Established in December '09, Music Gear made it's humble beginnings cocooned within the premises of RaGa School Of Music where Ravi has been and continues to teach the guitar. Today, Music Gear has a space of it's own ...
A self taught player of instruments such as the Harmonica, Guitar and whatever he could lay hands on, Ravi focussed on contributing to the IT arena for over twenty years until late 2008. All through his career in companies such as RelQ, Dell India R&D and EDS/HP, Ravi kept the 'fire of music' burning via informal gigs and jams with friends and colleagues at the workplace. Ravi released his maiden instrumental music album, Windswept in December 2013.
Parvathy quit her lucrative software career very early to help be the pillar at home to Ravi who had his head buried in start-up environments almost throughout his career in IT. With their children getting to become more independent in managing themselves, it paved the way for Parvathy to support Ravi in taking the entrepreneural steps. A big plus was that Parvathy too is passionate about music. She has been the learning the Veena over the years and contributed to the album Windswept. She now manages the RaGa School of Music.
